Game Overview
Garage: Bad Dream Adventure: “Garage” is a mysterious machine said to generate a bizarre, dark world by tapping into the subject’s subconscious mind. The player finds themselves in this enclosed, decaying world, filled with sewage, crumbling wooden structures, and rusted metals. What’s more, their body has been transformed into something part machine, part living creature. In this strange, maze-like environment, the player must navigate through its complexities, seeking a way to escape.
Originally released as a PC adventure game in 1999, Garage: Bad Dream Adventure is a surreal journey into the protagonist’s inner psyche, accessed through a psychotherapeutic machine. The player, now trapped in the form of a bio-mechanical being, explores this unsettling world in search of an exit. The game is renowned for its unique and eerie atmosphere, earning it a place among the top 3 most bizarre games.
While primarily an exploratory mystery-solving game, Garage also includes RPG elements such as character development via body modifications and a complex fishing system. The narrative wrestles with themes of escaping versus remaining in this strange reality, blurring the lines between the two. One of the standout features is its richly detailed world, with a tightly integrated ecosystem, energy systems, and lore. These elements combine to create a sense of eerie strangeness and anxiety throughout the game, despite it not being explicitly horror-focused.
In this remastered edition, almost all visuals have been enhanced, videos improved using AI frame interpolation, and the user interface and game balance refined. Additionally, new chapters, subquests, and multiple endings have been introduced to expand the experience.
